Andrea Mitchell

Andrea Mitchell is a Washington D.C.-based American TV journalist, anchor, and anchor and. Mitchell graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree from the department of English Literature. Mitchell started as an TV reporter and radio reporter within Philadelphia, KYW Radio and TV. In 1976 she was a part of the CBS-affiliate WDVM-TV in Washington DC (then WTOP). Two years later she became General Correspondent at NBC News in Washington. She started covering the White House in 1981 and was named chief correspondent for the congressional office by 1988. She was appointed chief congressional correspondent in the year 1992. was named to be the chief White House Correspondent and in 1994 was appointed chief foreign affairs reporter at NBC News. Mitchell is a regular in the TV news program Meet the Press as a host and panelist. Mitchell participated on a panel during the 1988 debates among George Bush & Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is the wife of Alan Greenspan former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell received the Goldsmith Career Award in Journalism in 2005, which was awarded by the John F. Kennedy School of Government. The Radio-Television News Directors Association awarded Mitchell Leonard Zeidenberg the award in 2004 for her work to protect First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell began reporting on in the White House in 1981-1988 for NBC News during Ronald Reagan's second term as president. Mitchell was a reporter on a range of noteworthy stories, such as the Iran-contra controversy and tax reform. She traveled with Ronald Reagan on numerous trips to summits around the world and covered extensively.
